One Forest Summit: Protecting Tropical Forests with the Libreville Plan
On 1 and 2 March 2023, more than 20 countries representing the major forest basins met in Libreville, Gabon, in the heart of the African forest, for a One Forest Summit dedicated to seeking solutions to protect tropical forests.
At this Summit, we advanced and renewed our collective ambition regarding the conservation and sustainable management of tropical forests.
One Forest Summit: Protection and Sustainable Management of Tropical Forest Basins at the Core of this 6th One Planet Summit
Held jointly by France and Gabon, the 6thOne Planet Summit will take place on 1 and 2 March 2023 in Libreville, Gabon. This Summit will focus on common challenges for the three tropical forest basins of the Congo Basin, the Amazon forest and the forests of South-East Asia.
Brest Commitments for the Oceans
Representatives of more than 100 countries from all sea basins and representing more than half the world’s exclusive economic zones, have stated their determination to preserve the oceans by contributing to the “Brest Commitments for the Oceans”, alongside the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the Director-General of UNESCO and the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
One Planet Summit for Biodiversity
