  • The mountain, next pillar of the Ugandan Defence

    While a new mountain warfare expertise mission is getting prepared and will start on March 28th, 2017, the reconnaissance of Margherita Peak by the major in charge of the mission is a new step in the development of a Ugandan strategic know-how.   • Somalia – Attack against an AMISOM unit (July 30, 2017)

    France condemns the attack perpetrated on July 30 by the al-Shabaab group against a unit belonging to the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) in Goryowein, which killed 12 Ugandan soldiers and injured seven others.

  • Military partnership in the Rwenzori

    On the 17th of June 2016, H.E. Sophie Makame, Ambassador of France to Uganda, and President Museveni visited the region of Rwenzori to attend a military training of Ugandan troops. This exercise was conducted by a French detachment coming from Djibouti where French troops are permanently stationed. The Air Force Major General, Philippe Montocchio commanding the French military forces in Djibouti came specifically on purpose to attend the training.
