Hello Tomorrow : an association which promotes innovation
Founded in 2011 by the French businessmen Xavier Duportet and Arnaud De La Tour, the association of young entrepreneurs Hello Tomorrow has just launched the 2015 edition of the Hello Tomorrow Challenge, a contest rewarding innovative technological projects.
Hello Tomorrow is a non-profit association supporting entrepreneurs who are anxious to find solutions to today’s societal problems through scientific and technological innovations. In 2014, it launched for its first edition the Hello Tomorrow Challenge, attracting more than 1200 projects. This year, this contest registered even more participants, thanks to the 30 semi-finalist slots and more than 200 000 euros prize money for the finalists.
30 innovative projects in 6 sectors
After a tedious selection exercise, 30 projects reached the semifinals threshold. Among them: a touch-screen tablet for the blind, adhesive solar panels, micro hydroelectric stations with a capacity of 200kW in any type of river and a biometric sensor which can produce the vascular print of an individual. So many innovative projects whose production on a large scale would help ensure a sustainable improvement of the global standard of living.
Among the 30 selected projects, 5 came from French start-ups. One of them offers a connected “stent” (arterial support) that monitors the healing process in real time in order to anticipate and avoid an emergency hospitalization.
The Grande finale will take place during the Hello Tomorrow conference, at the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie in Paris, on the 25th and 26th June 2015. During this event, the 30 selected teams will present their project in front of 4 000 people, and Hello Tomorrow will hand over the 100 000 euros Orange overall prize as well as the other 15 000 euros prizes to the winners of each of the categories.
