INFRA (infrastructure) Expert Mission of Djibouti [fr]
From 30 September to 5 October an expert assessment mission took place at the site of the future UPDF Mountain Warfare Training Centre in KARUGUTU in the Fort Portal region.
Composed of 2 persons, the Chief of the asset management division and a draughtsman, the mission was aimed at studying the feasibility of creating a training centre for Ugandan forces in mountain training. This ambitious project consists in creating ex nihilo a centre of excellence with mountain specificity for the Uganda People’s defence forces.
Overall, the aim is to create a military infrastructure, used throughout the year for training and upgrading the mountain techniques of a company size troop (150 people) by a section of trainers.
The permanent base of this mountain school will be a support and commanding staff and a protection section, for a total number of more than 100 people.
