The summer of festivals has begun in France and this until the end of September. Music, theater, dance, gastronomy, as many fields celebrated each year. In total, in three months, almost a hundred festivals will be taking place in the hexagon.

Finally, about jazz music, the yardstick festival is for sure the Nice Jazz Festival. It is the first jazz festival having been created in the world, starting from 1948. It is also the most important jazz festival in France, with its 38 00 participants last year, who rushed to see and hear C2C, Ben Harper or George Benson.
The underlining of culture in every shape and form
Theater is also the object of many festivals. The most well-known theater festival is for sure the Avignon festival: most important theatrical and live entertainment event of France, and one of the biggest in the world in terms of the number of creations and of gathered spectators. Come next the Chorégies d’Orange, oldest French festival created in 1869.
Same about dance, of which we can name the Royaumont festival in the iles de France region, mixing classic dance and music in a renewed or revisited repertory.
At last, what could be more typical of France than gastronomy? Each year, many events are organized, about oenology included. The wine festival of Saguenay in july and “Les Grandes Tablées” of Saumur Champigny in august are part of those events.
