Local scholarships

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS - Local Scholarships with French Language course

General presentation:
The French Embassy in Uganda is offering some scholarships to young Ugandan students who are learning French (all levels are accepted, even beginners) as part of their studies in the university. It can be either general French or French for Specific Purposes.

The scholarships cover the registration and tuition fee to the university where you belong.

The concerned study areas are:
-  Tourism
-  Agriculture
-  Environment
-  Journalism
-  Oil and Gas
-  Education

Eligibility criteria:
- Should be a beneficiary of the previous local scholarships program 2018-2019;
- Should have graduated and successfully passed the French language exam;
- Should be a Ugandan citizen;
- Should be studying a Bachelor or Master’s degree;
- Should be studying in the concerned study areas;
- Should be admitted to one of the following universities: Kyambogo University, Makerere University, Kabale University, Kampala International University, Nkumba University, International University of East Africa, Makerere University Business School, Islamic University, Uganda Christian University or Muteesa I Royal University;
- Should study French subject as part of the course at the University

If your tuition fee costs more than 2,500,000UGX a year, you commit yourself to pay the excess amount.

Application procedure:
Documents needed:
- Application form;
- Final results of the 2018-2019 academic year;
- Copy of an identity document;
- Proof of admission in a Bachelor/Master in which French is taught;
- Tuition fee for the 2019-2020 academic year.

The complete applications must be submitted, by soft or hard copy version, before Saturday 30th June 2019, to:

Be aware that any delayed or incomplete application will not be considered.

Selection procedure:
The applications will first be examined by the Embassy. The preselected candidates will then be contacted for a further interview in English at the French Embassy, in order to evaluate their motivatation.

Scholarships for Young Professionals

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS - Scholarship for Young Professionals 2019

General presentation:
The French Embassy in Uganda is offering scholarships for young Ugandans who work in or intend to set up a business in Uganda linked to the French-speaking world.

The scholarship covers the registration fees at the Alliance Française de Kampala.
The beneficiaries of the scholarship will be offered 3 courses at Alliance Française Kampala.

Intensive classes are taught Monday to Friday, either in the morning (10 to 12) or in the evening (6 to 8). Applicants to the scholarship must ensure that they are available for one of these 2 options. Failure to attend at least 80% of the classes will result in the cancellation of the scholarship.

The concerned professional areas are:
- Journalism
- Agriculture
- Tourism
- Environment
- Oil and Gas

Eligibility criteria:
- Be a Ugandan citizen;
- Work in the concerned professional areas/ have a business creation project;
- Be less than 40 years old;
- Have a real interest in the professional project and in learning French.

Application procedure:
Documents required:
- Application form;
- Written professional project;
- Resume (1 page maximum);
- Copy of an identity document;
- (If applicable) Copy of any diploma you may have.

The complete application file must be submitted, in hard or soft copy, before Tuesday June 10th 2019, to:

Master scholarships in France

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS - Master in France Scholarship 2019/2020

General presentation:
The French Embassy in Uganda is offering a scholarship designed for young Ugandan students who already possess a Bachelor degree in one of the concerned fields (agriculture - tourism and leisure –sustainable development) from a Ugandan university and who want to pursue their studies in Master degree in France, either in French or English language.

The concerned study areas are:
- Agriculture
- Sustainable development (Environment – Renewable energy)
- Tourism/leisure

Eligibility criteria:
- Be a Ugandan citizen;
- Possess a Bachelor in the concerned areas before the call closes;
- Study French subject as part of your studies.

Application procedure:
Documents needed:
- Application form;
- Cover letter;
- Copy of an identity document;
- Copy of the Bachelor degree.

The complete application file must be submitted, by soft or hard copy version, before May 15th 2019 to:
