Skiing World Cup : a great victory for Jean-Baptiste Grange
He wasn’t expecting it, and his fans neither. Last Sunday, Jean-Baptiste Grange won gold for the second time during the ski slalom championship in Beavercreek, Colorado.
This title, he had already won it in 2011 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, but this second success surprised him anyway. Indeed, between 2011 and 2015, bad injuries came one after another, including one severe to the knee and another one to the back, and those injuries deprived him of a single podium for four successive years.
Jean-Baptiste Grange’s tenacity eventually paid off and it is with the eyes full of tears that he accepts his medal. “This is a dream. I didn’t think I had the capacity for that.”, he admitted during an interview. When is the next medal? There is still one which has always slipped through his fingers, that of the Olympic Games. Pyongyang 2018, get ready…
