Women’s Rugby World Cup: French team in the semifinals!
The French women’s rugby team recorded their third consecutive victory on Saturday 9th August, scoring 17-3 against Australia in the last group stage match and booked their place in the semifinals scheduled for 13th August at the Jean-Bouin stadium.
The French ladies who lead Group C with 14 points, following their victories overs Wales (26-0), South Africa (55-3) and Australia have strengthened their position as the favorites to win this 7th edition of the Women’s Rugby World Cup being played in France from 1st to 17th August 2014.
Twelve teams are participating in this edition: South Africa, Canada, The United States, England, France, Ireland, Spain, Wales, Australia, New Zealand, Samoa and Kazakhstan.
The France-Australia match registered a new record of television audience of 2.2 million viewers, following the 1.3 million viewers recorded in the France-South Africa match. The final will be played on 17th August at Jean-Bouin stadium.
